A Microsoft tablet that used Microsoft's ARM-based CPUs rather than Intel. In 2019, the Pro X was introduced featuring the ARM-based SQ1 processor developed by Qualcomm and Microsoft for running Windows software. ARM-based tablets are noted for better battery life than x86-based tablets, and the Pro X is rated for 13 hours. In 2023, the Pro X was discontinued when the Surface Pro 9 was introduced, which is available with Intel or ARM CPUs. See
