(Sun
Open
Network
Environment) An older umbrella term by Sun for all of its products that supported open standards for Web services. Sun used the term "Services on Demand" to define the benefits of such an architecture. Sun ONE embraced Java, all of Sun's iPlanet products and the Liberty Alliance Project as well as Web protocols such as ebXML, SOAP, UDDI and WSDL. In 2003, the Sun ONE name was superseded by the Sun Java System brand. See
