The Chip Capital of America?
Companies such as Intel and Microchip have been in greater Phoenix for decades, and auxiliary companies have moved in to support them. Starting in the 2020s, Intel began to build a new chip plant in Chandler, and TSMC began development of multiple plants in Northern Phoenix with an expected increase of as many as 8,000 new jobs in the area.
