A cloud computing data center that is fully virtualized and controlled by a single software system. Coined by VMware for its vCloud Suite, the term implies that all virtualization aspects of the data center are fully automated and integrated. In contrast, data centers have traditionally been managed by separate server, network and storage software components. See
server virtualization,
network virtualization and
storage virtualization.
