Definition: RichLink
Earlier software from Sentius Corporation, Palo Alto, CA, that embeded annotations within a document so that readers could obtain further clarification of a word or phrase. When reading the document, clicking an annotated word popped up a menu with links to definitions, images or other websites. RichLink software for Windows and Mac was used to embed documents with proprietary material or with entries from RichLink-formatted dictionaries and encyclopedias from third parties.
Accepting text-based documents, Web pages and email messages, RichLink output a proprietary format that could be viewed with a Web browser or Acrobat Reader plug-in. RichLink authoring and viewer plug-ins were available on the Sentius website.
