An open source development platform from Qt Software, a Norwegian unit of Nokia. Pronounced "cute," Qt is cross platform and can generate C++ code for Windows, Mac and Linux environments. Extremely popular programs have been written in Qt, such as Google Earth, Skype and the KDE interface used in Linux. Originally developed by Trolltech, which was founded in 1994, the company was acquired by Nokia in 2008. See
