A consumer version of the Photoshop image editing program from Adobe. Widely used, it provides all the editing functions most users require to touch up their photos and quite a few more. Although it lacks many of the features in Photoshop that a professional photographer might want, Elements is a sophisticated program that supports layers, which is essential for creating composite images. It even supports RAW file formats but with fewer editing features than Photoshop. See
