A development and database platform from Progress Software Corporation, Bedford, Massachusetts that runs on Windows, Linux and various Unix versions. OpenEdge includes a 4GL-based language and relational DBMS, but also interfaces to Oracle, SQL Server and other databases. Formerly known as the Progress language and database, the company was founded in 1981.
