Definition: Open Memory Interface

A serial memory interface that uses far fewer pins on the memory module than the traditional parallel DDR memory. Debuting in 2018, Open Memory Interface (OMI) modules contain a built-in controller rather than requiring circuits on the motherboard. See SDRAM and memory module.
