Definition: OTA
(1) (Over The Air) In general, OTA may refer to any wireless system that uses open space as its transmission medium, including TV, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular. An OTA update is a new version of the operating system sent via Wi-Fi to a phone, tablet or laptop computer.
(2) (Over The Air) OTA may refer specifically to free wireless broadcasting such as AM/FM radio and network TV in contrast to paid services such as cable TV and satellite radio.
