Definition: OFDMA

(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) A cellular air interface based on OFDM for multiple, simultaneous users. The multiuser capability is achieved by assigning each user a subset of OFDM subcarriers (see OFDM). Used in networks such as Wi-Fi 6, LTE and the earlier WiMAX, OFDMA provides air interfaces that are superior to CDMA and TDMA. See Wi-Fi 6, SC-FDMA, WiMAX, LTE, CDMA and TDMA.
