Definition: Nova


(1) A source code editor for the Mac from Panic that supports more than two dozen languages. Superseding Coda, Nova allows users to build custom scripts to run tasks, and it has built-in Git version control.

(2) One of the first minicomputer families from Data General. When introduced in 1969, it was the first 16-bit mini to use four CPU accumulators, quite advanced for its time. Novas and its RDOS operating system were used extensively in the OEM marketplace. See Data General.
