Definition: NMOS vs. PMOS

In an NMOS transistor, the current is stopped between source and drain until the gate is pulsed. In a PMOS transistor, the current flows from source to drain until the gate is pulsed. The combination of NMOS and PMOS transistors produces CMOS, the most widely used circuit on a chip (see CMOS). See NMOS and PMOS.
