Definition: MFT


(1) (Master File Table) The list of files and folders in an NTFS volume. It contains the name, size, time and date, etc. for each file and folder. Since MFT records are 1KB in length, small files may be stored entirely within the MFT itself. See NTFS and FAT.

(2) (Managed File Transfer) Ensuring the security and integrity of organizational information that is transferred across the enterprise, both internally and externally.

(3) (Micro Four Thirds) A smaller version of the Four Thirds single lens reflex camera. See Four Thirds system.
