Definition: Kickstarter

A crowdfunding website for small and large creative projects in more than a dozen categories. Launched in 2009, Kickstarter is "all or nothing." If the monetary goal is reached by a certain date, all credit cards are charged; otherwise, the fundraiser is cancelled. As of 2020, more than 150,000 projects were fully funded, while approximately 250,000 were not. See crowdfunding.
