Definition: Kahn Academy
A source of free educational tutorials in various subjects including computer science, mathematics, literature and history. Launched in 2008 by Sal Kahn after tutoring his cousins in mathematics and developing YouTube videos, the Kahn Academy has been sponsored by Google, the Luis Alcazar Foundation, AT&T, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Musk Foundation.
Available in English and major languages, including Spanish, French, German and Chinese, the material is also partially available in more than two dozen other languages.
An Official SAT Preparation Site
Since 2015, the Kahn Academy has been an official preparation website for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). After a couple dozen hours at Kahn Academy, students have averaged at least a hundred more points on their SAT scores. Preparation for other tests is also available including the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
Kahnmigo
In 2023, the GPT-powered Kahnmigo chatbot was launched as a tutor to help people learn even faster. Kahnmigo is a play on the Spanish word "conmigo," which means "with me."
