Definition: JavaOS

An earlier Java operating system from Sun that required minimal hardware requirements and was intended for network computers and embedded systems. It included the Java Virtual Machine, which combined with the kernel, was written in the native machine language of the target CPU. Network and graphical user interface components were mostly written in Java.
