The private browsing mode in Google's Chrome Web browser. When a person accesses the Web using a Chrome Incognito window, cookies and browsing history will not be saved at the end of the session. Built-in browser modes or browser extensions featuring private browsing do not provide anonymous Web surfing. A website is only unable to identify the user's IP address when a virtual private network is employed (see
VPN) or if a browser designed for true anonymity is used (see
