A family of head-mounted virtual reality systems from Sony. Debuting in 2016, PlayStation VR (PSVR) goggles connect to PlayStation consoles and work with various handheld PlayStation controllers. An external PlayStation Camera supports face recognition login, voice commands and livestream capability while providing more precise head tracking. Expected in 2023, the PSVR 2 offers 4K and HDR imaging along with advanced controllers.
PSVR models are the latest in a line of 3D goggles from Sony, including the Glasstron in 1996 and the HMZ-T1 in 2011, the latter known as the Sony Personal HD & 3D Viewer, which came with its own processor unit. See
