A family of generative AI models from Google's DeepMind. Originally named Bard and introduced in 2023, Gemini was designed to compete with ChatGPT and answer a huge variety of questions. The introduction of ChatGPT in 2022 was so earth shattering that Google ex-CEOs Sergey Brin and Larry Page were brought back to decide Google's response.
The Models: Ultra, Pro, Flash and Nano
Gemini Ultra is the largest model. Gemini Pro is a generalized model for handling a wide range of tasks. The lightweight Gemini Flash was designed for speed, and Gemini Nano was created for processing within the device itself.
What Is a Happy Computer?
To test Gemini's response to a far-fetched question, following is the answer to the prompt "what is a happy computer?" Compared to the same prompt given to ChatGPT, Gemini's response was a bit more accurate by stating that people "might" use the term playfully. See

Happy Computer.
The term "happy computer" can have a couple of
meanings:
Historically: It referred to a German computer
magazine called Happy Computer, which existed from
1983 to 1990. The magazine focused on home
computer systems and games.
Figuratively: People might use it playfully to
describe a computer that's running smoothly and
efficiently, without any errors or glitches.
Computers themselves don't experience emotions
like happiness. But by keeping your computer
cool, free of viruses, and running tasks
efficiently, you can help ensure it operates at
its best!
