Definition: Fulfillment by Amazon

Amazon.com's e-commerce fulfillment service that warehouses millions of products from millions of third-party vendors. Introduced in 2000, Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is the largest third-party merchandise fulfillment service in the world.

After products are sent to Amazon's warehouses, Amazon ships the orders and handles all customer service including returns. Vendors can let Amazon do all the advertisement, or they can use their own websites for ordering and let Amazon do the fulfillment.

Amazon Nomads
There are people who spend their lives roaming the country in RVs and vans looking for items on clearance racks or in stores going out of business. While searching, nomads use an Amazon app to estimate the retail price of an item to determine potential profit. Then they ship the merchandise to an Amazon warehouse. See Amazon.com.
