(3) Google Shopping is an online search service from Google that locates products and the stores where they can be purchased. Introduced in 2002 as "Froogle" and later "Google Product Search," it was renamed Google Shopping in 2012. That same year changed the monetization model from AdWords to paid listings by the merchant.
The original Froogle name was a play on the word "frugal" that nicely rhymed with Google. See
