Definition: FrontPage
An earlier and popular Web authoring program from Microsoft for Windows and Mac. FrontPage Editor was the graphical editor for designing the pages and FrontPage Explorer was the management tool used to construct and maintain the site. It also included WebBots that generated code for functions such as searching and password protection. Introduced in 1995, FrontPage was part of Microsoft Office until 2003 but was replaced by SharePoint Designer and Microsoft Expression Web, both of which were later dropped.
