IMDb includes the plots, reviews, cast biographies and other information about more than six million movies, TV shows and video games. When introduced in 1990, IMDb was a Usenet group that migrated to the Web in 1993. In 1998, it was acquired by Amazon. See

In early 2019, a free streaming service was launched in the U.S. Paid for by ads, the original name of the service was Freedive, which later became IMDb TV.
