A raster image processor (RIP) from Electronics for Imaging, Inc., Foster City, CA, that is noted for its high-quality color processing and speed. Since 1991, the Fiery Color Server, which is a combination of hardware and software, has been used to transform digital color copiers into color printers. Toward the end of the 1990s, the Fiery components were added to lower-cost color devices such as laser printers and wide format inkjet printers.
