Definition: FTA receiver

(Free To Air receiver) A receiver that tunes in free satellite TV channels. Such broadcasts are offered by the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) in the U.S., various ethnic and religious groups in the U.S. and Canada, as well as regular TV programming in countries around the world.
