Definition: FFIEC

(Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council) A U.S. government interagency body established in 1979 that prescribes uniform principles, standards and report forms for the federal examination of financial institutions. In 2013, the FFIEC created the Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Working Group to strengthen cybersecurity efforts among its agencies.
