(1) (drop box) A folder used as a staging area. For example, in iMovie on the Mac, videos dragged to the drop box will be imported the next time the application is run.
(2) A popular cloud storage service founded in 2008. Dropbox is used to transfer and synchronize files between devices and is available in free and paid versions. A Dropbox folder is created in the user's computer, which is synchronized with other designated computers as well as the cloud. See
