Definition: superagency

A superior human agency due to AI. Whereas human agency means people's ability to make decisions on their own, superagency implies that people will make far more meaningful decisions by using AI. In addition, more decisions will be made automatically without human intervention. A family's tax returns will be automatically filled out each year, and there will be much less paperwork, if any, for all transactions than there is today. See AI agent and human agency.

Many Things Will Be Safer
Superagency will enable people to have amazing control of their lives, as AI agents make things safer in the future. For example, there is no doubt the safety measures in new cars are invaluable, but in the future, self-driving vehicles will save lives on their own. As a country's infrastructure (highways, lights and signage) is revamped to accomodate autonomous vehicles, driving will be much safer. Vehicles will not be allowed to stop or park where they could cause an accident, and inebriated drivers will not be allowed to drive at all. Parking meters will ensure people park in authorized spots and payments will be made automatically.

AI-driven home sensors can better detect leaks, electrical faults, pest infestation and humidity levels, thus preventing larger problems from manifesting. Total home monitoring will enable people to worry less and take advantage of more entertainment on screens in every room that roll down from the ceiling. Essentially, every transaction in a person's life will be automated and kept up to date. "Big Brother" on steroids. Stay tuned!

Everything Superagency Can Bring
In his 2025 book, AI optimist Reid Hoffman, covers the good and bad of new technologies but has a lot of positive things to say about our future. Hoffman classifies people as Doomers, Gloomers, Zoomers and Bloomers, the latter two taking advantage of what AI has to offer.
