(Digital Image Correction and Enhancement) A variety of techniques that remove scratches and dust when scanning transparencies such as 35mm slides and film strips. Digital ICE uses a separate infrared scan that detects the dust particles. Although film appears transparent to infrared light, dust does not, and the Digital ICE scan creates a map of the bad areas.
