Definition: Digital HD


A digital movie available for purchase from major Internet media retailers, including Amazon, CinemaNow, Google Play and iTunes. While stored in the retailer's cloud or in the UltraViolet cloud, movies are streamed or downloaded to the user's devices. Depending on the content, it may be available before its release on Blu-ray and DVD discs. The Digital HD brand name was coined by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
