Definition: DPOF
(Digital Print Order Format) A file format for digital camera memory cards that stipulates which images are to be printed. At the time of shooting or when reviewing on the camera, it allows the user to specify how many of each image are to be printed. The DPOF file is a built-in order on the "film" for commercial print services. It also enables the images to be printed immediately on desktop printers that accept memory cards without requiring software in the computer to set up the print job. Thumbnails and image rotation can also be specified.
