(1) (D3) The Pick System database. See Pick System.

(2) (Digital-3) A 1/2" broadcast-quality composite digital videotape format designed for recording uncompressed digital versions of analog NTSC or PAL. D-3 VTRs sample composite video at four times their subcarrier frequency (4FSC). Similar in purpose to D-2 equipment, D-3's half-inch format lent itself to more applications.
