Definition: Core X-series


A family of high-end CPU chips from Intel that provide from four to 18 cores. Introduced in 2017, the i9 and various i5 and i7 chips are available as X-series products. Combined with Intel's X299 chipset and aimed at the gaming community, X-series CPUs are designed to allow overclocking by the gamer. See Core i9, overclock and Intel Core.
