Definition: CDATA

(Character DATA) A tag used to store program source code in an XML document without confusing the XML parser. Characters such as "<" and ">" are used both in programming and as delimiters for XML tags. When program code is contained in CDATA tags, the code is displayed as is without analysis. Contrast with PCDATA. See XML parser.
