A social media network from Bluesky Social PBC. Launched in 2019 as a research project to decentralize the Twitter platform, Bluesky became a separate company in 2021 and was invite-only until 2024, the same year Elon Musk acquired Twitter. Very similar to Twitter in operation, Bluesky adoption increased dramatically during the 2024 election cycle and provided an alternative to X/Twitter.
