(2) (Blogger) A popular, free blog service from Google that lets anyone write and publish a blog on the blogspot.com website. Launched in 1999 by Pyra Labs, San Francisco, CA, Blogger was acquired by Google in 2003. Blogger hosts the blog under a subdomain of blogspot.com; for example, "myblog.blogspot.com," or the user's own domain name.
In 2005, Blogger Mobile was introduced to enable posting photos and text messages via mobile phones. Audioblogging is another feature. After signing up, users can call a number and speak, and the sound file goes to their blog. See
