Definition: ArtCraft

An open source software suite that replaces a variety of common applications. Debuting in 2025, ArtCraft was founded by Brandon Thomas to use AI to generate new applications from existing ones. All the apps were developed using Claude Opus 5.5. Available on Windows, Mac and Linux, all the apps except for FilmCraft can optionally run from a browser.

In 2026, the Adobe and Microsoft replacements attracted a lot of publicity. The results thus far are impressive, but there are bugs as well as differences that can be annoying. This is an extremely ambitious project and it will take time before all the issues are worked out.

Optional AI Generation for Support
Supporting ArtCraft's endeavor to keep its applications free, the company offers a variety of subscriptions for Nano Banana image generation and Seedance and Kling video generation. See PhotoCraft.
