A family of 64-bit ARM-based chips that provide security on Apple's Intel-based Mac line. Introduced in 2015 and a variant of the S1 chip in the Apple Watch, the T1 runs a version of WatchOS. It secures the camera, keychain passwords, Touch ID and Touch Bar. The T2, which is a variant of Apple's A10 chip runs bridgeOS, which manages Apple's Touch Bar. See
