Developed by Digital's Research Labs in Palo Alto in 1995, the AltaVista search engine was available in more than 25 languages in a variety of versions. In 2003, AltaVista was acquired by Overture, which was acquired by Yahoo! later in the year. In 2011, the AltaVista search was redirected to Yahoo!. See
