An AI neural network used to detect images. Developed by Alex Krizhevsky, Ilya Sutskever and Geoffrey Hinton, AlexNet achieved notoriety because it won the ImageNet competition in 2012 (see
ImageNet). Considered the first practical image recognition model on the market, AlexNet used a convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture that was trained on more than a million images in less than a week. See
