As evident in the chart below, upper case letters are grouped separately from lower case, and special characters are located before, in between and after the letters. If lists in a digital file are maintained in ASCIIbetical order, they have to be converted into alphabetic order for printing, which means that upper and lower case letters are treated as equals. See
