Definition: ARM silicon

Refers to the RISC-based chip designs that are licensed from ARM Holdings by Microsoft, Qualcomm and many others. There are primarilly two classes of silicon chips: RISC-based ARM and CISC-based Intel (x86). See Snapdragon, ARM, x86, RISC and CISC.
