Definition: AI image generator

Software that creates an image from a text description. Some AI image generators work online from a Web browser, while others require a software download. The generators obtain their base of art from the billions of images on websites extracted by the search engines. Along with the Web, social media provides a wealth of imagery that can be used intact or altered in some manner.

Examples of AI generators are Craiyon (DALL-E Mini), Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, NightCafe, Dream by Wimbo and DALL-E 2. These programs became popular in the early 2020s. See Dream Studio, DALL-E, Leonardo AI, Microsoft Designer, AI video generator and AI text generator.

Happy Computer!
Using a Web browser, these results came from three online generators after entering only the words "Happy Computer." Needless to say, these AI algorithms are quite different. All generators have some amount of user configuration and expansion, but these three tests used only default settings.
