An online service that analyzes written content to determine if any of it was written by AI. Content is compared against a collection of documents and website data. For example, the Turnitin subsidiary of Advance Publications provides a service that has been used to detect plagiarism since 1998. In 2023, one year after the advent of ChatGPT, AI detection was added to Turnitin that the company claims may not be 100% accurate all the time.
