(8-level Vestigial SideBand) The modulation technique used for digital TV (DTV) in the U.S. It minimizes interference with analog NTSC signals, which must be transmitted simultaneously with the digital signals until 2006. NTSC uses an analog VSB modulation. See DTV. Contrast with OFDM.
