The rendering of Web browser tabs in a top-to-bottom columnar format, which makes them easier to review. Traditional tabs, which are temporary bookmarks to open website pages, are spread horizontally across the top of the browser. However, for users who keep many pages open, there is limited room horizontally and a vertical layout is preferred. Extensions to popular browsers add the vertical tab feature. See
tabbed browsing and
browser extension.
Built Into Vivaldi
The most customizable Web browser, Vivaldi supports vertical tabs natively, enabling an enormous number of open pages to be easily accessed. This example shows there is plenty of room for more. Bookmarks are listed in the left panel, which can be changed to display downloads, history and other data. See
Vivaldi browser.
