Full Self-Driving (FSD)
Tesla launched its Full Self-Driving (FSD) option in beta in 2020. Its AI-based neural networks have been trained on millions of miles of video obtained from actual driving. Originally intended to be fully automatic, when it came out of beta in 2024, "Supervised" was added to the FSD name, requiring drivers to stay alert. See

Autopilot Is Now a Paid Subscription
Starting in 2026, new Teslas only come with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC). The lane centering (Autosteer), which was free in Autopilot, is now part of the paid FSD option. See
