Definition: Silicon Fingerprinting
A technology from SiidTech Inc., Hillsboro, OR)  that is used to add a unique ID to a chip whether still on the wafer or in its final package.  It is used to improve testing of the chip as well as serve as a tracing mechanism later on.  Like human fingerprints, no two Silicon Fingerprints are the same.  The technology may also be used as a substitute for barcoding in certain applications.
