A Russian satellite Internet system that is expected to cover the country with some 300 satellites by 2030 and more thereafter for both civilian and military use. In March 2026, the first 16 satellites were launched into orbit from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome spaceport by the Bureau 1440 company and Russian Defense Ministry. Rassvet is the Russian counterpart to the Starlink service from SpaceX. See
